This Kurd antique rug measures 3' 1" x 13' 4" and presents a long, focused field of repeating geometric motifs in brick red, brown, cream, and restrained blue accents. A layered border structure adds movement, with diagonal outer bands and a narrow inner guard border that sharpen the composition. The wool surface shows low distress, with gentle fading and softened wear that temper the palette without diminishing its detail. Circa 1885 - 1900, it carries the grounded warmth and rhythmic character often sought in a Kurd weaving, balanced, linear, and quietly expressive.
