This Khotan antique rug measures 4' 10" x 10' 9" and presents a long, narrow format with a softly worn, time-layered surface. The wool field is washed in muted red and coral tones, balanced by cream and neutral medallions and an aged border system that still reads clearly through the distress. Repeated rounded medallion forms run down the centre, surrounded by small geometric accents and fine outer detailing. Circa 1885 - 1900, it carries the quiet depth and faded contrast that give antique rug character without losing its underlying structure.
