This Ziegler Mahal antique rug measures 9' 1" x 12' 3" and pairs a richly worked allover field with a time-softened, lived-in surface. The red ground is layered with navy, gold, teal, and ivory accents, while large circular medallions and scrolling florals create a dense, rhythmic composition. A dark floral border brings definition and contrast to the field. Low distress is visible in the worn pile and gentle fading, which lend the piece a grounded, collected character. Circa 1900 - 1920, it carries the balanced ornament and muted depth associated with the Ziegler Mahal tradition.
