This Khotan antique rug, 4' 5" x 8' 4", is woven in wool and carries a weathered, layered surface that softens its geometry with time. A large central medallion anchors the composition, while stepped corner sections and narrow borders frame the field in red, neutral, cream, and white. The drawing is muted by even wear, giving the piece a calm, lived-in presence rather than a crisp finish. Circa 1925 - 1945, it reflects the restrained elegance and graphic balance often associated with Khotan rugs. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
