This Bakhtiari antique rug measures 9' 9" x 14' 6" and presents a richly layered field of linked lattice forms, floral elements, and small boteh-like accents. The composition is framed by a busy border with vine scrolls and blossoms, giving the surface a sense of movement from edge to centre. Wool pile and low distress allow the palette to read with depth, from brick red and indigo to moss green, ivory, and ochre. Circa 1920 - 1940, it carries the grounded, painterly character that defines the Bakhtiari tradition. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
