This Kurd antique rug measures 3' 4" x 11' 10", with a long, slender format and a restrained palette of brown, cream, and white softened by age. A central axis organizes repeating angular, tree-like motifs, framed by a floral inner border and a narrow geometric outer border. The surface shows clear wear and fading that lend the design a quiet, weathered depth. Circa 1925 - 1940, it carries the grounded character and graphic rhythm often associated with handwoven Kurd work, while the wool pile retains a dry, tactile presence that reads as elegant and timeworn.
