This Kurd antique rug measures 3' 4" x 14' 10" and presents a long, slender format with a richly patterned field of repeating geometric motifs. The deep burgundy ground is balanced by narrow borders, diagonal stripe bands, and accents of blue, cream, white, and gold that lend the composition clear structure. Woven in wool, it carries a grounded, tactile finish with low distress and softened edges that speak to age without overwhelming the design. Circa 1900 - 1915, it reflects the quiet discipline and vivid ornament of Kurdish weaving. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
