This Kurd antique rug measures 5' 5" x 9' 7", with a layered composition that balances a stepped navy central medallion against a warm red field and earth-toned borders. Tree-like motifs and small geometric details give the design a grounded, graphic rhythm, while the wool surface shows visible age and a softened hand. The worn centre adds depth to the palette of brown, red, and gold, letting darker outlines and border ornament stand out with restraint. Circa 1880 - 1900, it carries the presence of an antique rug shaped by time and use.
