This Ghashgai antique rug measures 4' 5" x 8' 2" and presents an all-over field of small floral boteh forms, framed by layered borders that soften the composition. The palette moves between brown, gold, cream, white, and muted blue, creating a weathered surface with depth and warmth. Wear is visible throughout, with open areas and faded passages that lend the piece a lived-in, tactile character. Circa 1885 - 1900, it reflects the grounded geometry and layered ornament associated with Ghashgai weaving, while the wool surface carries an honest, time-softened finish.
