This Ghashgai antique rug measures 6' 8" x 9' 0" and presents a richly layered composition in faded sky blue, terracotta, ivory, and warm brown. A detailed field of geometric medallions and smaller tribal motifs is surrounded by multiple borders of floral and angular elements, creating depth even through the softened wear. The surface shows substantial fading and abrash, which lend it a mellow, timeworn hand. Circa 1905 - 1920, it reflects the graphic clarity and patina that make Ghashgai weaving so enduring. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
