This Khotan antique rug measures 2' 5" x 12' 7" and reads with a quiet, time-softened elegance. A long central field is organized by repeating medallions and stepped geometric contours, framed by a narrow border with small floral and angular motifs. The palette settles into neutral ground tones with faded red and brown accents, creating a layered, worn depth across the length. Medium distress has softened the drawing and muted the contrast without erasing the character. Circa 1890 - 1910, it carries the grounded presence and restrained patterning that define the best of this format.
