This Saddle Bag antique rug measures 1' 8" x 1' 11" and presents as a richly layered textile object with a compact, vertical format. Bands of red, cream, brown, navy, and orange create a striped field animated by small geometric diamonds and repeating motifs, while the leather appliqué details add depth and tactility. The surface shows medium wear, with softened colour and visible age across the edges and strap. Circa 1880 - 1900, it carries the grounded irregularity and hand-worked presence that define Woven’s most compelling nomadic pieces.
