An Amritsa in wool, 7' 10" x 9' 7", with a deep burgundy field and layered gold and neutral ornament. A central medallion unfolds into scrolling floral arabesques and stylised blossoms, contained by a broad cartouche border. The pile shows medium, even wear and a soft, tactile hand; abrash and mellowing have harmonised the original palette. This antique rug reads as both formal in design and quietly lived-in, its motifs retaining crispness where the wool has gently aged. Circa 1900 - 1915 The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
