An Oushak of generous scale, 11' 10" x 14' 6", woven in wool and saturated with soft neutral, red and pink tones. A serrated central medallion and stepped mihrab read against a quietly faded ground, while repeating floral and geometric field motifs extend to layered borders. The surface shows medium distress, even abrash and small areas of loss that lend a lived, tactile character. Fine color harmonies of rose and muted beige give the piece a quiet architectural presence. This antique rug carries a resonance of age and craft in its worn palette. Circa 1880 - 1900
