A generously scaled Sultanabad woven in wool, the field measures 15' 4" x 16' 3" and reads as a finely detailed, allover floral rug. The pattern is a tight repeat of rosettes and small medallions that sit against deep blue grounds, tempered by neutral and green notes. Surface abrading and medium distress have softened the palette and created layered colour shifts that feel atmospheric and tactile. An antique rug with evident history, the border remains a strong compositional frame despite wear. Circa 1900 - 1920. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
