A large Sultanabad rendered in a quietly refined palette, handwoven in wool and gently worn to a soft, tactile finish. The field reads as an allover floral rug of palmettes and rosettes with a broad floral border in cream, white and faded blue notes. Surface abrash and medium distress reveal layered pigments and a lived-in patina that emphasize the weave’s age and hand. This substantial antique rug measures 15' 4" x 29' 3" and carries a quiet, architectural presence across its expansive span. Circa 1915 - 1930. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
