A softly faded Khorasan in wool, this antique rug measures 12' 2" x 18' 8" and reads as an exercise in quiet refinement. A pale neutral ground threaded with soft green and faded navy supports an allover floral and vine composition centred on a restrained medallion, while layered guard stripes and a palmette border frame the field. Medium distress has softened outlines and introduced gentle abrash, creating a luminous, timeworn surface. Circa 1920 - 1940. The piece conveys provincial craft and a tactile, archival presence that highlights its age and material integrity.
