This Sultanabad presents an expansive all-over floral lattice in wool, large palmettes and scrolling vines rendered in deep green, coral and seafoam across a softened ground. The surface retains clear motif definition while gentle abrash and low wear lend a refined patina and tactile depth. At 8' 3" x 14' 0" the repeating cartouche-like forms read with a calm, rhythmic presence along the length. An antique rug that balances expressive colour and measured restraint, its palette and modest distress speak to careful age and continued use. Circa 1915 - 1930.
