Wool construction, an expansive Bakhshaish field rendered in a warm red ground punctuated by neutral and brown medallions and blue-grey highlights. The pattern is an all-over repeat of stylised floral guls contained by layered neutral borders; scale is generous at 13' 4" x 15' 0". Surface wear is modest, with low distress and gentle abrash that enriches the color rather than obscuring design. The tactile pile and preserved borders give this antique rug a composed, lived-in presence that reads as both decorative and quietly architectural. Circa 1890 - 1910. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
