A generous wool Bakhshaish with a disciplined garden-field register, this antique rug measures 11' 10" x 15' 4" and shows a warm, softened palette of red, cream and pale blue. Repeated stylised blossoms and serrated leafy motifs create an ordered, textile-like plane while a broad rosette border frames the field. Surface abrasions and even abrash introduce a tactile patina; the medium distress preserves pattern while conveying age. The wool retains a soft hand and a quiet luminosity that reads as crafted and historical. Circa 1890 - 1910. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
