This Bijar runner, woven in wool, reads as a history of use and craft along its long field. A chain of angular medallions and stylized floral motifs organizes the composition, the warm reds and neutral grounds settling into a soft, tactile palette. Low distress reveals subtle abrash and selective surface loss that accentuates the weave’s geometry without compromising structure. The piece measures 3' 10" x 17' 0" and retains an honest, lived-in presence that reads as an antique rug with considered patina. Circa 1920 - 1935, its restrained palette and durable hand reflect the Bijar tradition in an elongated form.
