This Bijar antique rug measures 3' 3" x 27' 9" and presents an elongated, formal composition in wool. A warm cream field is densely worked with repeating floral and vine motifs, then set within a rich red border scattered with small rosettes and stylised blossoms. The palette moves between red, white, cream, and muted accent colours, giving the surface depth and quiet contrast. Circa 1880 - 1900, it carries the grounded weight and measured ornament associated with Bijar rugs, while the low distress preserves its clarity and long, elegant proportion.
