Farahan Sarouk / 11804

An elegant Farahan Sarouk in wool, preserved in-house and presented on a warm red ground. The 8' 4" x 11' 8" field is an allover of palmettes, leaf sprays and small floral motifs arranged around a faint central axis, set within a sage scrolling border. Cream and navy highlights lift the composition while subtle abrash and light pile wear give the wool a soft, tactile patina. The piece retains clarity of design with low visible distress; the hand and colour depth speak to long practice in dye and weave. This antique rug reads as both composed and lived-in. Circa 1900 - 1915
