A restrained Bakhshaish in wool, the broad neutral field warms to a soft, sunfaded tone around a singular red and cream medallion. Corner spandrels echo the central palmette in compressed form while a layered floral border frames the composition. The hand of time is gentle; pile shows low wear and an even abrash that lends a tactile, lived-in surface. The scale and elongated proportions read with quiet formality. Circa 1885 - 1900. This antique rug measures 9' 0" x 17' 5" and reads as a study in colour restraint and old-world weaving grammar.
