This Farahan Sarouk reads as an intimate study in line and tone, woven in wool with a soft neutral field enlivened by green and gold accents. The pattern is an allover arrangement of scrolling arabesques, palmettes and small roundels, framed by a narrow navy guard and a warm rust outer border. Surface condition is low wear, a mellow patina that preserves crisp motif definition and tactile pile. The composition feels both delicate and substantial, a considered antique rug with layered colour and handwork clearly visible. Circa 1885 - 1900. Size: 11' 3" x 14' 0".
