An Oushak with a warm, saturated red field and softly faded floral columns rendered in cream and neutral tones. The stepped mihrab at each short end and the multi-hued palmette border read as measured, civic motifs translated into wool; the surface shows low distress and a tactile, even pile. The piece measures 4' 2" x 6' 6" and reads as an antique rug with a considered, time-softened palette. Circa 1885 - 1925. The hand of traditional Oushak design is evident in the restrained geometry and generous color fields, a quiet, craft-forward presence with restored edges and restrained abrash.
