This Bakhshaish presents an expansive, worn field where floral arabesques and scrolling vines soften into a neutral ground. The broad red guard border retains stylised palmettes and geometric medallions that read as painterly motifs against areas of exposed warp and softened colour. The palette, faded red, cream and warm beiges, reads like a lived-in textile, tactile and quiet. A clearly antique rug with pronounced wear and layered abrash, its scale and presence are conveyed in the exact measurement 12' 8" x 15' 9". Circa 1885 - 1900. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
