Sivas presents a quietly refined medallion composition rendered in soft neutrals, warm brown and antique gold on wool. The large central medallion is surrounded by a network of floral arabesques and a series of delicate guard borders, the design softened by age. Surface abrash and even fading give the piece a tactile, worn elegance while the pattern language remains legible. This antique rug measures 8' 0" x 11' 7" and shows medium distress that attests to long use and careful handling. Circa 1905 - 1935. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
