Zaboul with an ivory ground and soft seafoam highlights, woven in wool and eased by a lifetime of wear. A disciplined grid of octagonal guls anchors the field while a narrow geometric border repeats a linked square motif; the charred-brown outlines read like fine drawing against a pale tan ground. The surface shows even abrash, scattered pile loss and a low, clothlike nap that emphasizes the rug’s tactile restraint. Small, faded floral stars and aquamarine accents surface between the guls, lending depth to the muted color range. This antique rug carries a quiet, studied presence. Circa 1900 - 1920.
