This Sivas is a quietly luminous wool rug, 3' 6" x 4' 8", defined by a linked diamond medallion and an allover floral ground in warm tan, cream and muted blue. The wide ivory border carries a scrolling palmette repeat that frames the central sequence with calm restraint. Medium distress and soft abrash give the pile a tactile, broken-in surface that reads as layered patina. The piece reads as an antique rug of considered proportions, where faded colours and worn texture articulate long use and careful making. Circa 1900 - 1955.
