A quietly luminous Oushak in soft, aging tones. The large central medallion floats in a warm neutral field, its red outlines and white highlights softened by time. Stepped corner spandrels and a floral vine border read like a faded fresco, the wool pile worn to a tactile, low-relief surface. Surface abrash and medium distress give the piece depth and a calm patina. This antique rug measures 10' 3" x 12' 10" and bears the hand of long use with restrained elegance. Circa 1890 - 1910. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
