A quiet, round Chinese Peking in wool, 8' 10" x 9' 0", composed of a soft cream field punctuated by a measured ring of navy cloud-scroll motifs. The centre reads in tone-on-tone florals and lotus sprays, the design revealed subtly through an aged satin patina. High distress has introduced warm abrash and areas of surface wear, lending an honest, tactile history to the piece. The edge remains gently softened, the palette restrained and architectural. This antique rug reads like a study in restraint and time, its worn surface emphasizing craft and touch. Circa 1900 - 1915
