An elegant Sultanabad in wool, this antique rug measures 7' 1" x 9' 2" and presents a warm red field framed by ivory and cream borders. A disciplined arrangement of floral palmettes, paired animal and bird motifs, and scrolling vines reads with a formal symmetry that has been softened by time. The surface shows low distress and subtle abrash where garnet shifts to softer salmon tones; the pile remains tactile and quietly worn. Circa 1910 - 1925. The overall effect is heritage-aware and design-literate, a textured study in pattern, colour and the craft of woven wool.
