A lively Bakhshaish worked in wool, this antique rug pairs a saturated red field with neutral registers and soft pink highlights. The field resolves into a repeating sequence of vertical floral panels and small ivory rectangular registers, while a broad geometric border of octagonal medallions frames the composition. Low distress preserves crisp motif definition and a tactile, gently worn surface; subtle abrash and warmth in the dyes signal age and use. Circa 1900 - 1920. Measures 12' 1" x 12' 8". The result is a composed, heritage-aware rug design study in pattern, colour, and handwoven rhythm.
