This Farahan Sarouk antique rug measures 8' 4" x 11' 0" and presents a timeworn field of rust red, cream, and navy softened by age. A bold central medallion anchors the composition, while floral scatter, corner spandrels, and layered borders create a balanced, richly worked surface. The pile shows low distress with gentle fading and abrash that lend the piece a lived-in tactility without diminishing its design. Circa 1900 - 1920, it carries the refined, painterly character associated with Farahan Sarouk weaving, with wool lending warmth and a grounded hand.
