This Amritsa antique rug in wool measures 14' 4" x 17' 6" and presents a faded, elegant field of floral scrolls, medallion forms, and layered borders. The palette moves through cream, white, beige, and muted rose, with a softly worn surface that gives the drawing a misted, atmospheric quality. Areas of abrasion and overall lightening temper the pattern rather than erase it, allowing the ornament to read as quietly weathered and refined. Circa 1890 - 1910, it carries the calm density and decorative restraint associated with a well-aged Amritsa. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
