This Bakhshaish antique rug measures 12' 6" x 16' 7" and presents a richly layered composition in blue, red, and neutral tones. A large geometric medallion anchors the field, surrounded by floral details, corner spandrels, and a finely articulated border that adds rhythm without crowding the design. The wool pile shows low distress, with a calm, time-softened surface and subtle colour variation that deepens its character. Circa 1885 - 1900, it carries the visual balance and bold drafting associated with the Bakhshaish tradition, while remaining grounded and composed.
