This Sultanabad antique rug measures 8' 7" x 11' 10" and carries the open, expressive drawing associated with the type. A cream ground supports a layered field of floral sprays, palmettes, and scrolling vine forms in rust, blue, green, and brown, all framed by a dark, more geometric border that gives the composition depth. The wool pile shows gentle wear and a softened hand, lending quiet character without diminishing the clarity of the design.
