This Sarouk antique rug measures 2' 4" x 3' 0" and carries the grounded, floral formality associated with the type. A saturated red field is framed by a dark border, while the composition unfolds through scrolling vines, small blossoms, and two vertically placed central motifs that lend the piece a balanced, courtly rhythm. Wool pile gives the surface a soft, tactile presence, with low distress and age-softened colour that enrich its depth. Circa 1925 - 1945, it reads as composed and familiar, yet full of subtle variation and wear that speak to its life over time.
