This Oushak antique rug measures 15' 7" x 25' 2" and carries a timeworn field of large-scale geometric floral motifs in softened red, pink, and neutral tones. The layered border frames the composition with quiet structure, while the open ground and faded ornament give the piece a washed, atmospheric presence. Wool lends a naturally supple hand and a muted surface that reads with depth rather than contrast. Circa 1885 - 1910, the rug shows medium distress, with gentle abrash, visible wear, and softened edges that speak to long use and enduring character.
