This Soumak antique rug measures 10' 2" x 12' 6" and presents a richly weathered field of rust red, faded blue, cream, and brown. A strong geometric layout unfolds through stacked medallions and octagonal motifs, framed by narrow inner lines and a structured border with repeating star forms. The surface shows low distress, with visible wear that softens the pattern and gives the wool a muted, tactile depth. Circa 1910 - 1930, it carries the visual balance of age and ornament that defines the most compelling Soumak pieces. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
