Large stepped diamonds run in a strong vertical rhythm, while smaller geometric and botanical details soften the composition with a hand-drawn quality. The border is richly worked, with repeating multicolour squares and a narrow zigzag edge that frames the field with precision. Circa 1920 - 1935, the rug carries low distress and a balanced, timeworn surface that gives the wool a quiet depth without obscuring its pattern.
