This Soumak antique rug measures 7' 2" x 9' 4" and presents a layered field of rust red, brown, muted teal, and cream. Three medallions anchor the composition, while the border and side panels carry floral rosettes, small geometric forms, and softly offset repeats that give the surface a lived-in rhythm. Wool texture and medium distress contribute to its worn, tactile depth, with areas of fading and abrasion that lighten the palette in places. Circa 1890 - 1920, it reads with grounded warmth and a carefully weathered presence. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
