This Sultanabad antique rug measures 12' 9" x 15' 3" and presents a richly faded field in rust, brown, cream, and white, with charcoal and muted blue accents holding the remaining ornament in place. A large medallion anchors the composition, while corner spandrels and a delicate border preserve the classic structure beneath the heavy wear. The surface shows extensive fading and a time-softened patina that gives the design an understated, layered depth. Circa 1920 - 1935, it carries the quiet atmosphere of a well-aged textile with visual presence. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
