This Ghiordes antique rug measures 2' 9" x 5' 2", and its restrained palette of pink, cream, white, and neutral tones gives the composition a softened, timeworn glow. A stepped central niche anchors the field, while floral border panels and repeating medallions frame the design with balance and rhythm. The lower half introduces a more open, panelled layout, adding contrast to the denser upper ornament. Circa 1885 - 1915, the rug shows low distress, with visible fading and gentle edge wear that lend texture without overwhelming the pattern. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
