This Ghiordes antique rug measures 4' 8" x 7' 10" and presents a softly worn, architectural prayer-niche composition. A vivid rose field is balanced by aqua, mint, ivory, and sand-toned borders, while floral repeats and fine guard bands create a layered frame around the centre. The surface shows generous fading and scattered abrasion, allowing the palette to read with a quiet, timeworn softness. Circa 1900 - 1915, it carries the restrained formality and decorative depth associated with the Ghiordes tradition, where pattern and patina work together in a single, coherent field of colour and age.
