Sarouk / 10105

This Sarouk is a generous wool field measuring 13' 7" x 17' 5". Its all-over design layers small palmettes, linked boteh and scrolling vines across a saturated red ground, set against a deep navy guard border threaded with gold and light-blue highlights. The wool pile has a soft, tactile sheen that reveals subtle abrash and color modulation; overall wear is low and the motifs remain distinctly legible. A gentle patina of the natural dyes lends the piece the character of an antique rug while preserving its original graphic clarity. Circa 1900 - 1915.
