A generous Sarouk in wool, its deep red field warmed by navy and neutral highlights and an intricate allover floral arabesque. The composition is dense with palmettes, rosettes and scrolling vines punctuated by subtle paisley corners and a multi-guard floral border. The piece shows low, honest wear; the pile is mellowed with soft abrash across the field that accentuates the woven colour transitions. This antique rug reads as both ornament and quietly timeworn surface, its tactile wool and patient patterning offering layered detail at scale. Circa 1915 - 1930. Measurements: 14' 0" x 17' 4".
