An expansive Sarouk woven in wool, this antique rug measures 16' 6" x 33' 6" and reads as a quiet, refined red field. Repeating palmettes and elongated boteh motifs articulate the center, while a multi-band navy foliate border offers gold and neutral highlights. The surface shows low distress with gentle pile reduction in high areas and soft abrash that enriches the color. The wool pile remains supple to the touch, the pattern retaining clear voice despite age.
