An elegant Sivas in wool, this antique rug presents a large red field centred by a round medallion and a lower figural reserve rendered against cream and neutral grounds. Stylised animals, scrolling floral vines and palmette borders articulate the surface while medium distress and even abrash soften details into a tactile, linen-like patina. Borders maintain their motif rhythm despite field fading, lending the piece a composed, archival presence. The rug measures 4' 3" x 6' 7" and reads as a quietly worked tableau of craft and time. Circa 1895 - 1915.
